In this one-day workshop for middle grade teachers, participants will engage in a problem-based task to deepen conceptual understanding of number sense and operations in their grade band. In addition, they will learn ways to develop students’ skills around the Common Core State Standards for mathematical practices. They will leave with techniques for developing high-level problem-based tasks in their classroom and one problem based-task they can implement immediately.
